CMYBA will hold tryouts for Summer All-Stars teams for 7U thru 13U, any player that played in the current year's spring rec season allowed to register and tryout. We hope to have at least one team for each age, the number of teams each year will depend on player interest, skill level and coach availibility. Teams will play in at least 3 tournaments, 2 away and 1 home tournament in which CMYBA will provide entry fees. Additional tournaments can be played in but at the expense of the team. The amount of tournaments could vary because of availibility of players and coaches due to other obligations like vacations.
Registration and tryouts usually take place in May. Tryouts will be scheduled and players must attend, volunteers will be needed to run the tryouts. The Player Agent will run and evaluate players. Please understand that no one is guaranteed to make an All-Star team. The team's manager will contact all selected players for their team's roster.
Minimum requirements include but not limited too players must have registered and played in the current years' CMYBA Rec Spring Baseball Season, players must have played in at least 75% of their Rec teams' games and players must attend the All-Star tryout. If there are enough kids to fill a roster in the age group, younger players will not be used. Example if we have 15 kids tryout for the 7U team and three of them are 6 year olds the twelve 7 years olds will be chosen first to fill the roster.
A $50 volunteer service check will be required after your player has been selected to a team in addition to the registration fee. Families of the players chosen for the team are required to help out in anyway possible during the teams' home tournament. There's a lot of work that goes into hosting an All-Star tournament please be prepared to help the coaching staff all weekend with concession stand, field maintanence, scorekeeping, announcing games, organizing, etc. If you choose not to volunteer as needed for the home tournament your service check will be cashed.
In All-Star tournament play the organization will not impose strict playing time requirements on the Team Manager. The Manager will have full discretion based on what he or she believes will be most beneficial to the success of the team and what will best to represent Canon McMillan Youth Baseball. Managers must have coached in the current years' Spring baseball season to be considered and the manager choices will be voted on by the CMYBA board.
